Bi-Annual Events

The Ridgefield Garden Club hosts biannual events that celebrate native plants and inspire a deeper love of gardening.

Bi-Annual Native Plant Grant

We encourage and support native bees, birds, and wildlife in Ridgefield by planting Pacific Northwest native plants.

The club offers a grant to help residents get started.

To apply, you must live in the 98642 zip code and submit your application by the posted deadline. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to supporting insects, birds, and wildlife through organic gardening practices and show an understanding of the benefits of planting and nurturing Pacific Northwest native plants.

Applications for Spring planting accepted from Dec 1 - Jan 31, and Fall planting from July1 - August 31.

Plant Sale Project

The Ridgefield Garden Club holds bi-annual plant sale on the first Saturday in May during Ridgefield’s Springfest celebration. The sale features hanging baskets, planters, vegetables, herbs, perennials, annuals, and native plants that support local birds and pollinators. The second is in October during the BirdFest and Bluegrass Festival weekend featuring all native plants.

Funds raised from the sale support community projects such as school gardening programs, produce for local food banks, seasonal plantings in the downtown business district, and free holiday centerpiece crafts during Hometown Celebration in December. The club also sponsors ivy removal work parties at Abrams Park, native plant installations in community parks, and grants for Ridgefield residents to add native plants to their own yards.
